Handheld Sawing techniques are generally used for smaller jobs where it is faster and more cost effective than using other cutting methods. Typical applications include HVAC openings in brick and cinderblock, beam pockets, and small openings in slabs and walls. Handheld hydraulic saws can cut up to a 6" depth from one side.
Ring Sawing is a hand held hydraulic saw that is capable of a cutting depth of 10" from one side. The ring saw differs from other saws because the blade is not put on a spindle, the blade has no core (center) and it rotates on a roller system which allows a 14" blade to cut a depth of 10".
